Being now self-employed after a long new media advertising sales career, I have a plenty of my sales leads that I would like to most cost effectively follow up from the comfort of my home.
As you can now guess, my question here is very simple:
What would be the cheapest or maybe free way for me to make outbound international calls to Europe from the UK?

Good calling card or plan to use? I have internet and use Verizon in the US, and really can’t afford to add international calling to the plan and international texting is too expensive. He uses Telestra and doesn’t have internet access in Australia.

I’m in Ireland, here we get ripped off! We pay 55/$72/53 a month for combined phone and internet (our phone plan gives us free local and national calls at all times and free calls to one of the Irish mobile/cell operators. Our internet plan gives us upto 3MB) We use VOIP for our international calls, good value, only about 12/$16/11.50 every 4 months.
We pay 23/$30/22 a month for cable tv (giving us hundreds of channels - many of them rubbish though!)

Will be traveling to Maui for a week. Need to call back home to Boston and dont want to use the phone in the hotel which is a rip off. Is there a local telephone company in Hawaii that will provide a reasonably priced service?

I haven’t got much of an idea what I’m looking at, I need to buy a new phone for the house but I’ve seen some which are compatible with VOIP but are expensive, is it worth the extra money.

Any advice on the whole system would be great.

I currently have a BT line and service and Sky TV with broadband package. Most phone usage will be evenings and weekend.
