Do you know any VoIP alternatives to Skype?

I’ve been using Skype for years, but I’ve become increasingly dissatisfied with Skype’s poor — or more appropriately, non-existent — customer support and ridiculous payment (“credit”) system.

What other reputable VoIP services would you recommend? Please recommend a few so I can make comparisons.

Skype is the only famous VoIP I know of. I want a VoIP that also offer mobile service and in-home devices that can act as a home phone.

You can try engin or talkscape. Talkscape provide you with additional equipment this may be more of waht your after. For the record all Voip providers who primarily offer services for the “HOME” user are rubbish.

    Hello,

    Firstly, DO NOT use Vonage!

They are HORRIBLE, and TERRIBLE customer service:
We used this service for 10 months.

Our international calls to Fiji, which we use often stopped working. It would not connect, we tried and tried, lots of numbers over the corse of a month.

I called a tech, nice guy and he worked with me 45 min. and ended up submitting a ticket to other techs. FINALLY after 2 weeks I got an email saying they cannot resolve the problem.

So, I signed up with another VoIP. I called Vonage to cancel… THE idiot kept me on the phone 50 min. telling me that he could have the problem fixed within 15 min.!!!!
I was furious, they didn’t fix it when I reported it! I SAID no way, I am not happy and I have already switched. He informed me that I wasn’t in my right state of mind to switch!

ON top of being harrased by the “manager of customer service”, since he told me there was no other staff higher in authority I could speak with…I SAY NO NO NO to Vonage.

ViaTalk is the way to go, cheaper and FAST tech help!
    CHECK it out

    YOU won’t be disappointed!

    EDIT—-
I forgot to mention that the 80 attempted calls to Fiji, they charged me for all of them, even though it never rang!
